O.C.D.

What is O.C.D. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?

Obsessing womanObsessive Compulsive Disorder is a neurotic illness characterised by overwhelming intrusive thoughts on a continuous basis and a feeling of powerlessness to ever control or eliminate them. The sufferer becomes so distressed throughout this experience it leaves him/her isolated and even more powerless. This in turn compounds the effects of the illness. Stress is a very big factor in compounding the symptoms and the patient needs to learn how to manage their stressors more effectively. Recovery can be reached with appropriate counselling and a CBT Psychotherapy approach.
